(Cobb County, Ga) Acworth police are looking for a brazen criminal who broke into a well know gun store early Saturday morning.

Surveillance video shows a red pickup truck being driven into the glass door of Acworth Guns, the oldest gun shop in the area. The driver then entered the store with an empty bag ready to load up on hand and shot guns. But, what the thief didn’t know was the gun shop owner was prepared for the worst.

“As a routine of habit every night we take the guns out and put them in the safe and every morning we get them back out and display them like every other gun shop,” said Luther LeCroy, owner of Acworth Guns.

More than 100 guns were locked in safes, which means when the thief gained entry there was nothing to steal.

“The person who did this, doesn’t understand that they’re stupid,” said James Heath, who frequents the gun store. “There’s a light left on the top of the cabinets every night and all you have to do is look through the window and you would see there are no guns. Everything is locked up. ”

The burglar was in the gun shop for less than a minute and despite leaving empty handed, he left behind thousand in damages.

“I have zero tolerance for low-life thieves that are too lazy to work and I would love to have a few minutes with this gentleman to discuss the error of his ways,” added LeCroy.

Anyone with information about burglary is asked to call the Acworth police.
