Construction worker injured during carjacking at elementary school

A construction employee working on a renovation project at a DeKalb County elementary school is recovering after being injured during a carjacking.

The incident happened at Panola Way Elementary School in Stone Mountain.

According to police, three suspects in a gray, four-door Mercedes-Benz stole the worker's Toyota Tundra. The worker was dragged alongside the vehicle as he was trying to stop the suspects.

He sustained significant injury and is being treated at an area hospital.

Police say the suspects have been seen driving around in the Lithonia and Decatur area and they're considered armed and dangerous.
