(Meredith) -- Classic 90's film "The Sandlot" is making a comeback with the original cast, director David Mickey Evans announced recently on the podcast Rain Delay.

The sequel will be made as a TV series, the director said, and will be set in 1984, according to SlashFilm. The original film was primarily set in the 60's and revealed how the boys were doing by the movie's end in present day, presumably 1993, the year of the movie's release.

Evans did not reveal which streaming service the Sandlot sequel series would be available on, just saying he "has sold a pitch for a television series sequel to the original movie that will bring all the original cast members back," according to SlashFilm.
