Freeze Watch

(Source: WGCL)

A freeze watch has been issued for northwest Georgia Friday night through Saturday morning.

The watch includes locations in the north Georgia mountains, Rome, Canton, Ellijay, Dawsonville, Hiawassee, Morganton, Blue Ridge, Jasper and Calhoun.

The watch does not include metro Atlanta.

What does it mean?

A freeze watch means freezing temperatures of 32 degrees or colder will be possible. If the watch is upgraded to a freeze warning, you'll need to take action!

What to do

If a freeze warning is issued for your area, make sure and bring in pets, in addition to plants and vegetation that may be sensitive to freezing temperatures.

Freeze warnings are issued in north Georgia primarily to let you know when you need to bring in vegetation that can't handle the temperatures as we transition from the warm to cold season.
