The saga at Friendship Tower continues.

The housing facility for the elderly and disabled is still without adequate air conditioning and hot water according to residents. They tell CBS46 that since management won’t fix their problems after two months of complaints, they are going to make sure everyone at Friendship Baptist Church knows about it. They plan to attend church services Sunday.

“At their 10:30 service, we will be guests of Friendship… we are inviting ourselves as we have not been invited,” stated community activist Derrick Boazman.

“The church has a responsibility to swing the door open for everyone who is lost and looking for guidance and that is what we are going looking for,” Boazman added. Boazman questioned how a religious group could let the elderly suffer.

The Friendship Tower residents claim not only is the church not helping them, they are now trying to evict two of the most outspoken residents. CBS 46 tried contacting the management company for Friendship Tower but have not received a response.
