Kemp and Abrams on trail

Atlanta, GA (CBS46)

We are now just eight days from Election Day and the candidates in the race for Georgia's next governor continue to hit the road.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp is spending Monday on the road as he'll make stops in Barrow, Oconee, Jackson, Morgan and Newton counties.

Thursday, Vice President Mike Pence is expected to join Kemp on the campaign trail.

Sunday, Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams hosted a rally called "Souls to the Polls."

Former Atlanta mayor and UN ambassador Andrew Young attended as well as Grammy award-winning artist and actor Common.

Also in metro Atlanta over the weekend were students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

They are on a nationwide tour registering college students to vote.

Early voting ends this Friday and Election Day is next Tuesday, November 6.
