The trouble started when the AJC wrote an article about the white former Griffin City Commissioner using multiple racial slurs at a city commission meeting in Griffin.
By mistake, the newspaper posted a picture of the wrong Larry Johnson, who is black and was, naturally, offended.
"You just get upset because you come off of the 50th anniversary of MLK, and what I've been fighting for - which is inclusion and making sure races can go together and bridge the gap. And now my name is posted all over the world," said Johnson.
Now, Dekalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson is trying to undo some of the damage.
"You can build your career and do all these great things. And one story," said Johnson. "One article can call everything into question."
