A man was killed Saturday after a plane crash in Paulding County.

The single-engine plane crashed on Lucas Lane in northern Paulding County at 3:42 p.m., according to a police spokesperson with the county. The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Paul Lewis Deep of Middleburg, Florida.

The plane was found at 5:05 p.m. by a Georgia Power subcontractor who was patrolling power lines in the area after calls regarding a power outage.

The area in which the Piper PA-28-180 plane crashed into a low lying bank is said to be very rural.
