For some it was first coming to the Marietta 4th of July Celebration, but for others this parade has always been what brought the family together.
Patsy Fletcher and her brother sat in the shade right off Roswell Street as they do every year.
"We were raised here in Marietta right off the square, so ever since they've had it we've been here."
She says it's been many years since they started a family tradition to attend Marietta's 4th of July Parade.
"It just means being with everybody, the spirit of 4th of July, our country and Lord we have some stuff going on with our country right now."
Fletcher say the many flags and the amount of patriotism mean so much to her.
"We've had so many nephews in the Marines, in the Army and I'm just really proud of all of them, what they had to go through."
