An Atlanta United game is one of the hottest tickets in town and now they are teaming up with the state road and toll authority to help relieve traffic.
On one side of I-75 a normal flow of traffic can be seen and on the other side construction for the new express lanes can be seen.
Chris Tomlinson works for the State Road and Tollway Authority and says the partnership with Atlanta United is a way to encourage people to buy a Peach Pass so that they can use the new express lanes stretching from I-75 to Highway 575.
"It will be 30 miles of brand new capacity lanes to help with the traffic that is coming out of both Cobb and Cherokee Counties," he says.
A similar express lane opened last year in Henry County and averages 164,000 drivers each month.
It also increased the speed in the regular lanes by nearly 10 miles an hour.
Officials are hoping for similar results with the northwest express lanes, which is expected to open late summer.
