North Georgia woman sought wanted for attempted murder, aggravated assault

Police are searching for a north Georgia woman accused of shooting a man in the chest and the search has now taken them to North Carolina.

Crystal LeAnn Carter, 37, allegedly shot William Craig Henderson in the chest Saturday night before dropping him off at a hospital in Hiawassee. Henderson was later air-lifted to another facility in stable condition.

Carter then fled the scene in a Chevrolet Tahoe, which was later recovered at a Marathon gas station of state highway 75 in Hiawassee. Police say Carter then took her Ford pickup to a residence in Clay County, North Carolina, where it was recovered y authorities.

Carter was not at the residence and is currently on the run. She's considered to be armed and dangerous and could be in the Hiawassee, Georgia or Clay County, North Carolina areas. She's charged with one count of criminal attempt to commit murder and one count of aggravated assault.
