More than 250 people are looking for a new place to live after fire destroyed a huge section of a Kennesaw motel over the weekend.
The fire ripped through the Budgetel Extended Stay Hotel on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw on Saturday.
Adam Mallory is searching for a place to live after being displaced from the hotel.
"So I already paid for a couple of weeks in advance. So now I'm just waiting to get my next paycheck and figure out where I can stay until I get paid this Friday," said Mallory.
The city's community center and Red Cross are assisting those affected by the fire. Volunteers say the people displaced are in need of diapers, hygiene products and other items.
Red Cross spokesperson Divinia Mims Pucket that says that road to recovery is often a very emotional journey.
"First narrowly escaping a fire you're happy to be alive. But then after that you really start to think about what does that look like I just lost everything. It can be really traumatic," said Pucket.
At this time the cause of fire has not yet been determined.
