Kennesaw State University has a new president and Pamela Whitten has the job.
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia voted unanimously in favor of appointing her to the post.
Whitten has been serving as the University of Georgia's Provost and Chief Academic Officer. She was the only finalist for the post.
The former president, Sam Olens, resigned in February. Last fall he was criticized for the way he handled a situation involving five black cheerleaders who took a knee during the National Anthem at a football game.
CBS46 Sources say Olens went against the Board of Regents by telling the cheerleaders to protest in the stadium tunnel instead.
