Police say the death of a 3-year-old child recovered from a lake in Cobb County on April 4 is an accidental drowning.
The Marietta Police Department said they were notified by 911 dispatch about the missing child just after 3 p.m. The child was reported missing in the 1200 block of Powder Springs Street.
Police say after a search, the child's body was found in Reeves Lake, near the shoreline, just after 3:30 p.m.
He was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
On Friday, the department released a statement, saying "The investigation into this incident is complete and has been ruled an accidental drowning. Our thoughts and prayers for healing go out to the family during this very difficult time."
Police have not released the identity of the child.
