During a recent health inspection, popular Atlanta eatery Park Tavern Brewery and Restaurant received the lowest score possible when officials assessed the cleanliness of the food surfaces.

The restaurant failed to meet several of the standards set by the Food and Drug Administration and one of the violations is a known risk for food-borne illness. The establishment is known for its scenic seating, many festivals and great food.

But out of a possible 100 score, the restaurant recently received a 69. That's the lowest grade a restaurant can receive. Park Tavern Brewery And Restaurant scorecardThe news is shocking to those who frequent the restaurant.

"I enjoyed it very much. The sushi is very good and they have a different selection of food," says Jake Wasserman, a regular customer. "We have been to a few festivals here which have also been good."

According to the inspection, the restaurant failed to keep food surfaces cleaned and sanitized. They also failed to keep proper date and time markings and items that should've been thrown away were not.

The restaurant is scheduled to have another inspection this month. If they continue to fail, it's likely they could be shut down.
