The owner of a metro Atlanta restaurant kicked out our camera crew this week when we put them on the spot about a failing health inspection. We uncovered a serious pest problem inside the kitchen.

But first, we dish out the details from a popular Cajun grill with a perfect health score.

We’re cooking it up hot this week on Restaurant Report Car at Henry’s Louisiana Grill. Cajun food is on the menu, and you know it’s delicious and made from scratch because Chef Henry himself was born and raised in Louisiana.

All of the items here are great, plus you come in and Chef Henry entertains the crowd, tossing out some of those beads. We can’t wait to tell you about these dishes on the menu, but first here’s this week’s best and worst scores.

Things got a little heated this week in Lithonia when we questioned the owner of Atlanta’s Best Wings about one of his worst scores.

The DeKalb County restaurant on Covington Highway failed with 56 points and a “U” for unsatisfactory. The report said chicken, fish and cheese were at unsafe temperatures, plus an employee chopped green onions with bare hands, and there were roaches and flies seen throughout the facility.

“It says you have a roach problem,” we said. “Have you eliminated that?”

“Yeah, I need to talk to you,” the owner said. “Just tell him to stop recording. Just tell him to stop recording.”

“We don’t stop recording,” we said. “We want to make sure this can be corrected, sir. No, no, let go. You can’t touch him.”

“This is my private property,” the owner said.

“No, you cannot touch him,” we said.

“Yeah yeah yeah,” the owner said.

The pest problem was so bad, the health inspector took photographs to document the violation and demand change.

“It says not only were there live roaches, but you had dead roaches that were stuck in food residue in sauce containers,” we said. “That’s disgusting. Have you taken care of that and cleaned up the problem?”

“Yes, I can show you everything is done.”

Management said they hired a new pest control company to eliminate the bugs and get their business back on track.

Other Scores

California Dreaming on Chastain Road in Cobb County scored a 96. Chipotle on Roswell Road in Atlanta picked up a 97. China Panda on Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Gwinnett County picked up a 99.

Golden Spatula Winner

And here at Henry’s Louisiana Grill on Main Steet in Acworth, they picked up a 100 on their health inspection and are this week’s Golden Spatula Winner!

You can come down and get good Cajun food and plenty of entertainment. Chef Henry is amazing with those beads.
