Restaurant Report Card: Nicky's Seafood

The catch of the day on this week's Restaurant Report Card is a failing seafood spot in Atlanta.

Nicky's Seafood at 609 Whitehall Street scored 59 points and a "U" for unsatisfactory. Inspectors found mold at the ice machine and tomatoes 39 degrees out of temperature range. Plus, there was an employee eating out of customers to-go plates.

To make matters worse, management posted an old inspection of 94 points on the wall misleading customers. So CBS46 questioned management about their violations and they locked us out of the business.

"Hey guys get outside," an employee said. "We're not open, we're not open."

"It says you open at 11:30," CBS46's Adam Murphy replied.

"We're not open today," an employee said.

But they were open, CBS46 News watched as customers walked in the restaurant and the open sign out front speaks for itself.

Now to some good scores around metro Atlanta, Mama Jean's Jamaican Restaurant at 1820 Noah's Ark Road in Clayton County scored 93 points and an "A." In DeKalb County, Raging Burrito at 141 Sycamore Street in Decatur picked up a 96 and an "A" and in Gwinnett County Franco's Pizza at 1365 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville received 100 points and an "A."

Last but not least, GIO'S Chicken at 1099 Hemphill Avenue in Atlanta scored 100 points and an "A" and was the featured restaurant of the week.
