Restaurant Report Card: Stockbridge eatery fails with only 28 points

A Henry County restaurant received one of the lowest health scores on record during the past decade.

Huge Hibachi Sushi Buffet at 5425 North Henry Blvd. in Stockbridge failed an inspection on Oct. 15, 2014 with only 28 points and a "U" for unsatisfactory.

The report says a food handler picked his nose, wiped his hands on his apron and continued to cook. Plus, raw meats were stored with washed produce and cooked products in the cooler.

Health inspectors also found foods in the freezer that were stored uncovered and severely freezer burned. Employees at Huge Hibachi Sushi Buffet also used paint brushes as butter brushes and they had heavy rust build up on the bristles. Finally, roast beef, roasted pork and chicken on a stick were at unsafe temperatures.

Now to some good scores around metro Atlanta this week. In Gwinnett County, Bourbon Street Café at 3333 Buford Dr. in Buford scored 90 points and an "A." In DeKalb County, IHOP at 2741 Clairmont Rd. in Atlanta received 97 points and an "A," and in Fulton County, Taqueria del Sol at 1200 Howell Mill Road in Atlanta scored 98 points and an "A."
