Atlanta, Ga (CBS46) If you plan to dine out, be sure to check out CBS46's exclusive Restaurant Report Card before making a reservation. This week, we expose a BBQ joint with a pest problem, but Adam Murphy gets things started with a terrific Thai restaurant.
Bangkok Thyme on Roswell Road in Atlanta has been around for 13 years. The ambiance of the restaurant makes patrons feel like they've gone somewhere. They also have a full-service sushi bar, but first here's this week's best and worst scores.
On Ridenour Boulevard in Cobb County, we questioned a popular BBQ joint caught red-handed with critical health violations. Dickey's BBQ Pit in Kennesaw failed its last surprise in inspection with 65 points and a 'U' for unsatisfactory.
The report says collard greens were at an unsafe temperature. Plus, flies were seen throughout the restaurant and the ice machine, meat warmer and toaster oven were dirty with heavy accumulation of food debris.
An employee was even seen without gloves in the kitchen area. We asked the manager what happened.
"Uh, she came in late in the day and we had two new employees coming so they didn't address some of the things that we had to process," said the manager. "The two previous scores have been 'A's. We've never gotten a failing score before and we'll never get one again."
- Zoes Kitchen on Cobb Parkway in Atlanta is back on track after scoring 91 points on a re-inspection.
- Chase's Grille on Lawrenceville Street in Norcross received a 95
- Pizza Hut on Winters Chapel Road in Atlanta scored a 96
