Fire ripped through a high rise building in Midtown Atlanta early Tuesday morning, evacuating residents and forcing the closure of West Peachtree Street.

The fire began around 3 a.m. inside a unit on the 18th floor of Plaza Midtown, located at 44 Peachtree Plaza.

No injuries were sustained and a cause of the fire hasn't been determined.

The fire forced several residents to evacuate and forced the closure of West Peachtree Street between 10th and 5th streets for several hours. Residents have been allowed to return to their homes and the roadway reopened about 6 a.m.
