A 15-year-old boy, arrested and charged with murder following the fatal shooting of a 3-year-old child on Easter Sunday, is expected to appear in court Friday.

T’Rhigi Craig was shot around 11:30 p.m. on April 1 while in the backseat of his mother's car at the intersection of Eastland Road and Bouldercrest Road in Atlanta. Craig's mother says she was at a stop light when she noticed a vehicle pull up next to her and saw a man with what she believed to be a paintball gun.

She says she heard a popping noise that she thought came from the paintball gun before later realizing that her son had been shot. Detectives believe the shot actually came from a nearby Texaco gas station, perhaps from someone aiming for the person with the paintball gun.

According to police, 15 year-old Cristopher Cullins was with his mother, sister and cousin when he was hit with a paintball. Cullins then grabbed his cousin's real gun and fired back at a carload of people with the paintball guns.

The bullet missed them but struck T-Rhigi, who was asleep in a car seat.

Cullins was located and arrested at Sylvan Middle School, where he's a student. He's is expected to appear in court Friday morning.
