The Trump Administration rescinds an Obama-era guidance that advocates using race in college admissions.
The Justice Department in a letter says it's one of 24 documents that were unnecessary or improper.
There has been a lot of reaction to this move, so CBS46 asked our Political Analyst Rashad Richey about it.
"If you start getting into the game of saying we don't want to take these things into consideration well that's a problem because your institution can now produce an entire graduating class that may be disconnected from the community it serves," said Richey.
Richey also points to race consideration importance because colleges and universities need to produce individuals who can speak to every community.
