A 60-year-old Decatur woman is recovering after being hit by a stray bullet.
It happened at the Spring Valley Apartment homes while she was sleeping Friday at 3 a.m.
Elizabeth Bell walked CBS46 reporter Bobeth Yates through the horrific moment when a stray bullet entered her apartment on the 2800 block of Misty Waters Drive.
"I heard the glass and the window shatter and I felt pain in my arm and I got up and went in there and I told my friend that I think I shot and I was bleeding from my shoulder," said Bell.
Decatur police arrived to the scene to find the single gun shot. Bell was transported to the hospital, treated and later released.
"If you can't be safe laying in your bed sleeping at night how do you feel safe? I think I'm going to try to relocate as soon as possible," said Bell.
The Decatur Police Department say they are looking into this incident. They are asking anyone which information to come forward.
