Silverbacks scoring drought continues, shut out by Rowdies, 3-0


The Atlanta Silverbacks put a loss to FC Edmonton behind them and picked up two late goals to beat Chattanooga FC 2-1 Wednesday.

Chattanooga opened the scoring in the 87th minute with a goal by Luke Winter.

Shaka Bangura countered in the 90th minute to knot the game at a goal apiece before Jaime Chavez scored the game winner in the 109th minute to lead the Silverbacks to victory.

Atlanta improved to 2-2-5 during the Spring season.

The Silverbacks will next take on the San Antonio Scorpions at Silverbacks Park on Saturday, June 6.

Atlanta is one point ahead of the Scorpions in the standings.
