(WTVR/CNN) -- A Virginia couple said their Uber ride turned into a complete nightmare when the driver chased after another car at a high rate of speed.

Tameka Swann and John Murray hailed an Uber in Richmond around 8 p.m. Monday for a night out on the town.

Moments into the ride, they said someone driving an SUV rear-ended their Uber.

“Our Uber driver attempted to pull over so they could exchange information, but the car didn’t stop behind us," she said. "They went around us and sped off, and that’s when our Uber sped off behind him."

Murray pulled out his phone to live-stream the high-speed chase on Facebook while pleading for the Uber driver to slow down.

"He kept going. That was the scariest moment of my life," said Swan. "I have never been that scared in my life. It was a nightmare."

The Uber driver dialed 911 and handed his cell phone to Swann, who told the dispatcher what happened.

He eventually pulled over and let the couple out of the vehicle.

Richmond police and Uber are now investigating.

"This driver's behavior is concerning, and we have removed his access to the app pending investigation," an Uber spokesperson told WTVR-TV.

As for the couple, they're not planning to use a ride-share anytime soon.

"I thank God we are still here," said Murray.

"I send my kids in Uber sometimes, but never again," Swann added.
