Atlanta broke its fourth record high of the year last Friday when the temperature hit 77 degrees, a whopping 18 degrees above average!

But we didn't stop with just a record high.

At 77 degrees, Friday become the second-warmest day on record for Atlanta in December, dating back to 1878. We previously hit 77 degrees in December four other times.

The warmest day on record for the month of December was 79 degrees, which occurred on Dec. 1, 1991.

77 in December?

We don't hit 77 degrees in December that often? Friday was only the fourth time it has been 77 or warmer in the month over the last 50 years.
